FKBAT 58500 Motorcraft Battery 12V 55Ah Rechargeable Replacement Batteries Maintenance-free
Installation Precautions:
1. Confirm the battery model: Check whether the voltage, capacity and size of the new battery match the original vehicle.
2. Wear insulating gloves and goggles to prevent accidental short circuit or acid contact, remove metal accessories (such as watches, rings), and avoid accidental overlap of positive and negative poles.
3. Turn off the engine and all electrical appliances (headlights, audio, etc.) first.
4. Remove the old battery: remove the negative pole (-) first, then the positive pole (+). The wrong order may cause a short circuit and damage the on-board computer or fuse. Use insulating tape to wrap the removed cables to prevent touching the metal parts of the car body.
5. Clean the corrosion and neutralize the acid residue with baking soda water + wire brush. If the cable is aged or broken, it needs to be replaced simultaneously.
6. Make sure the battery is placed stably and the buckle/pressure plate is tightened to avoid loosening due to driving vibration.
7. After the positive pole is connected, connect the negative pole to reduce the risk of sparks. Tighten the terminals. Too loose will result in poor contact, and too tight may damage the terminals.
8. Use a multimeter to check the voltage (full charge should be ≥12.6V).
9. After ignition, check whether there is a fault light on the dashboard, and test whether the headlights and air conditioner are normal.
10. If the vehicle is idle for more than 1 month, it is recommended to disconnect the negative pole or use a smart charger for maintenance.
Warning: Do not invert or tilt more than 45°, as this may cause electrolyte leakage; do not perform short-circuit testing, as touching the positive and negative electrodes at the same time with metal tools will cause strong discharge and damage the battery; do not connect in parallel or in series at will, and non-professionals are not allowed to modify the battery pack, as this may cause overheating or explosion.
