How to check the battery status?
1. Automatic AED Self-Test:
- The LifePak CR Plus automatically performs a self-test daily, including a battery check. The "Ready/Prepared" light on the front of the device displays the results.
- Flashing green: The device and battery are functioning normally.
- Flashing or lit yellow/red: This indicates a malfunction or low battery charge that requires immediate attention.
2. Manual Battery Test:
- Press the battery test button on the battery pack.
- Observe the adjacent light:
- Lit green: The battery is fully charged and in good condition.
- No light: The battery is depleted or inoperable and must be replaced immediately.
When do batteries need to be replaced?
1. AED warning: The device beeps and the status indicator turns red or solid yellow, indicating "Replace Battery" or "Battery Low."
2. Manual test failure: After pressing the battery test button, the indicator does not illuminate green.
3. Expiration date: Even if the device is not warning, the battery must be replaced as a precaution before the expiration date printed on the device casing. Do not use beyond the expiration date.
